I think it's like an addiction, once you get the special edition consoles you start feeling like you need your next fix. . .

Why do you think it would be their response to the slim? It's a limited edition console isn't it?

If you look at the red sentence, it is the "starting salvo" of their response. To continue the metaphor, they fire out this bundle (and others apparently) and then drop a bomb holiday season by repackaging a new elite with these specs during the holiday season. That may be their response, and effectively beating the rumored 250gb slim to market. Aside from a redesign of the console (or building frickin' wireless into it, come on MS!) there isn't much else they can do to respond.

Very shortly if not already there will be only one reason for MS to sell a 120GB drive over a 250GB drive.  That one reason will be that they have an inventory to clear. Once that is done since 250GB drives now would cost about the same amount as a 120GB to purchase it makes no sense to purchase any more 120GB drives. 

I also still believe MS has to have something planned with the Arcade for the Holidays.  The 360 price really wasnt reduced.  The $300 pro was dominating the $400 elite in sales already. MS just added 60GB to the pro with the new elite price and that wasnt really a price reduction.
