I like the adverts too. It gets the message out: good graphics, $399.
As far as women vs. men, old vs. young, and all that jazz... remember, that Nintendo was often credited with selling games to parents...who, after all were going to buy the games, that their children would play.

Selling to men, absolutely should not be considered a negative thing. They are marketing to the market that is going to plunk down $399 for a games machine with good graphics...it would be disaster, if they didn't market to that demographic. Those people can in turn, relate their good experiences, and their position as influence leaders in the gaming world, and that could turn into a broader audience as well...but get the foundation set.

I don't think an ad, can market the ps3 to the wii audience... its different hardware, different games, controllers and price point. Sony could market the ps2 to the casual gamer crowd...it has the lower price point and wide library, and they could pack in different games or controllers and play with that.
