man the law is so fucked up. If a gay guy gets beat up its a hate crime. If a black guy gets beat up by a white guy its a hate crime. This is the first time I've actually heard of it being racially motivated when it was a white guy getting beat up and I think it's just as stupid now as it was when heard about the other "hate crimes" involving people of other races. Even if the one commiting the crime isn't racist or homophobic they can still get charged with a hate crime... it's stupid.

I don't believe there should be such a law as "hate crimes". It makes no sense. giving someone special treatment because of the color of there skin or sexual orientation. Everybody should be treated as equal. If you beat someone up, you should get charged with assault no matter what color skin they have. But some people will always fall back on "he hit me cause i am a homosexual" "he hit me cause i am black", just so they can make the punishment more.  Its not right. 


I dont agree with this...Hate crimes one most violent crimes around and should treated with a appropriate punishment...choosing to harm somebody because af race religion W/e is a stomach turning event...ur right we should be treated equally but if there are in the world for a unequal reason they need to have a punishment
