I'm a little torn by these ads. Clearly, these are better than the previous ones; they don't have that "What the hell, that's just creepy" effect.

On the other hand, my MAIN complaint about their previous ads was that they almost exclusively appealed to the male, age 16-25 demographic, and that problem still remains. This simply isn't going to appeal to girls, women, young boys (say sub 10), or adults over the age of 40. It's almost exclusively a young male badassness that not only doesn't attract women, but can actually repel them.

And what game from the ad are supposed to appeal to women and girls ? If it had Singstar LBp Afrika i might have agreed to a certain extent. But they arent marketing to soccer moms, they have to hit hard at the demographis their current games are made for. Do you see Warhawk, Uncharted Heavenly as girly games ? i sure dont. All i see is a pathetic complaint about something sony did well.

You want to market to girls and women you first need a product that appeals to them.

You just named some games that might appeal to girls, and then proceeded to tell me that no such games exist.

Singstar, Little Big Planet, Afrika, and Ratchet and Clank are all games that can appeal more to women; just combine these games with some games that appeal more to men, such as Resistance or Heavenly Sword AND combine it with smart advertising. You don't actually have to make a girlie add, with pink colors and flowers everywhere; just gender neutral. Look at precisely what Apple has done with their products -- they are neither macho nor feminine, neither childish nor uncool.

Step 1 in achieving this balance? Don't put heavy metal music in your add.

Those games are not in the ad, if they were then you can complain.

Step 1 - when most of your products are geered towards males you market to males, the heavy metal music is perfect for the products appear in the ad.

Step 2 - when your ad is full of LBp Afrika Sigstar then make the ad friendly towards all demographics.

Some good old common sense.

For someone who claims to have common sense, how could you be missing this? The fact that those games aren't in the ad is part of the problem (although R&C is in there).

Why is that so hard? Your logic is circuituous and rather befuddling.

Me: "This advertisement is to directly geared at males age 18-25."

You: "But that's what the advertisement is for. Look at the games."

Me: "I know... and it shouldn't be that way. They should swap some games out to appeal to other demographics."

You: "But that's not what this advertisement does."

I know. That's the problem.
