True, and L4D was a lot of fun. By that's pretty sad if your suggesting that we only hype sequals to big games. That's a pretty shallow thought. All big franchises had to start somewhere and after keeping with borderlands since it was revealed in GI, I think I've had more then enough information to come to a conclusion as to what the quality of the game may be like. Sure, it could come out and be a turd, but after seeing as much of it as we have I highly doubt that will be the case. It's much more likely to be an incredible game.
But maybe I just think we are all innocent until proven guilty while you hold the belief that we are all guilty until proven innocent?

What do you expect from a new multiplat-ip ? Not many people cared about Batman Arkham Asylum until they've seen the incredible reviews.
Gearbox devs are talented, but they haven't made a true AAA title yet. Personally I'm a bit more hyped for their Aliens: Colonial Marines game.

idk about that, I saw lots of people hyped for Arkham Asylum before it was released because you could tell that it actually looked like a solid batman title. I think it was a lot better then people had expected though. But, I do understand your point. Still, I see people getting excited for new ips all the time. The question isn't so much if borderlands will be a better game then l4d2 as much as it is why is l4d2 so much more hyped. And I think it's a combination of what your saying and that it's an exclusive.
