My prediction is, Microsoft will add at least 4gb of ram and if is possible overclock the cpu from 3.2ghz to 4.0ghz, same with the gpu increase the speed. This way the Next-Gen Xbox will be a cost efficient console to produce that may start selling under $250." I like how u think. That extra ram alone would make the PS3 and 360 almost next gen consoles. With 45nm or smaller chips they can do this. Much less heat. Lets hope we see large ram and only slightly up graded everything elso in PS4 / 720. |
It makes sense right? If Microsoft wants to make a budget console for next-gen
Microsoft should recycle some of the current internal components like, the tri-core cpu and the gpu and tweek them to be faster, from 3.2ghz to 4.0ghz and shrink the chip to 45nm or smaller for less energy consumption which make it run cooler and the GPU from 500mhz to 1.5ghz than all Microsoft should do is add 4gb of Ram that alone makes it a next-gen console.
That's if Microsoft wants to launch a console starting from $250. aka Nintendo Wii.
Now if Microsoft wants to launch a next-gen Xbox in 2012 at a price no higher than $400 ..
1) I think it will carry a HD-DVD drive, because it has a large storage capacity and its harder to duplicate games (piracy), nobody or hardly anybody have HD-DVD burners and only Microsoft will support the format for games.
2) Could have an ugraded overclocked quad-core cpu to be moderate or maybe come with a hybrid cpu/gpu combo if to manufactor keeps the Xbox under $400 when ready to be shipped ..
3) this time the next-gen Xbox will have a internal Harddrive.
4) If Microsoft would like for the next-gen Xbox in 2011 or 12 to have a long life span just add the most important component called RAM up to 6 to 8gb of Ram ..
I think those specs mentioned there will not exceed $400 at launch 3 years from now..
