Xbox 720 "not needed" right now, says Microsoft

Seems like they are going the route Nintendo took with Wii, since the Wii is basically a GameCube with motion controls.

The only difference in MS's case is that people with the 360 now will be able to purchase the motion controls to go with their system instead of having to buy new hardware.
