Don't worry, it has no realistic chance to become game of the year. In most cases it won't even be one of the nominees.

Well i wouldn't be sure about that. The gaming press tends to give mario games a free pass.

 

Anyways I think theres a lot of really great games out this year .. but alas.. there can be only one... highla..cough goty...

No, the main Mario games are just usually really really good.

 

You can usually tell the games given a free pass because they get attacked somewhat when looked back upon, GTA IV, B&W, Fable were all reviewed exceptionally well at first and only later did the press start going 'wait a minute...'.

I think they do. In my opinion mario galaxy is a high 7. But thats just my opinion ofcourse.
