| JUG said: I think the problem with this debate is that one man's conception of PC gaming is different to someone else's. Yes it's true that you can hook a wii remote up to a PC, but that requires a level of expertise that a normal person does not have. If you want to bring technical expertise into the debate to prop up the PC side, then we could turn the whole argument around and say that a real technological expert could modify a console to give it many of the advantages which a PC supposedly has. When talking about PC gaming, I mean the kind of gaming you get from a PC with a normal level of expertise, I think it's the only sensible way to approach the debate. And exclusives are relevant because they dictate the kind of games you can play on the respective platforms. When talking about gaming on a Nintendo console you don't just think of the hardware, you think of the games; it's part of the whole package. |
That isn't really the same thing. To allow a PC to use a control option you probably only have to buy a cheap extra adapter(such as a blue tooth and wii IR reading adapter) and download some software. On the console side of things you first need a way to mod the console, which may take years for somebody to figure out, and then you have to go throught he process of installation that may or may not be easy. Even then I know of very few mods for consoles that allow you to increase graphic fidelty, and the ones I do know of are much more dangerous than doing something like putting in ram or a gpu. So it isn't anywhere near the same level of expertise. You basically need to have an education in the field of expertise to modify a console, when all you need to modify a PC is a 10 minute youtube video.
