i'd like to point out in this thread a couple of things.
the sales of Suikoden 1-5 on this site are limited to only the Japanese release.
despite the DS Suikoden having US sales added, they pale in comparison to the PS Suikodens.
Suikoden 5 sold 125,000, Suikoden 4 sold 179,000, Suikoden 3 sold 191,000, and Suikoden 2
sold 152,000 units on first week in Japan.
DS Suikoden sold only 61,000 units on first week in Japan.
Obviously, console versions of the game VASTLY outperform the lone portable version. But, as said before, the most logical choice is PSP.. because of how J-core-games seem to sell like hotcakes on the platform. Think Monster Hunter Portable 2G vs. Monster Hunter 3. Third party games just don't sell as well on Nintendo platforms.
But of course, if they were to make a console version, which would be best, it should be PS3/360. I'm thinking they might make it PS3 exclusive because there are so few 360s in Japan.
