Have you even looked at what L4D2 offers? If it were the same exact game just being released next year it would be praised as game of the year by all.
So yeah, I've thought before I typed, I've even played the original game for more than an hour, and I've actually looked at what the new games offers, have you? I doubt it!

Thats the problem right there. You say this as a good thing. What if GTA5 would be exactly the same way GTA4 was? It just screams rip off. And easy cash. And i'll do a list aswell, since it makes me look more serious.
- Story is exactly like the first game, i have not seen anything proving otherwise except more random conversations between the 4 characters in the game. Theres nothing on it on any official L4D sites, nor fansites execpt speculations in forums where people say they want more of a story. And some saying they dont want any cutscenes at all. - It was first speculated about the storytelling that there would be cutscenes to open up each campaign, but recent new says "Chet has said that the team is "moving away" from this[cutscenes], which may mean that the movies will be short, or perhaps will be removed entirely." And more focus will be on the playable characters integration with eachother as you play the game. Runing jokes and statements to shape the characters personalities.
- 3 new SI and upgraded "standard" enemies. - Ok.
- New maps - well otherwise it would be the EXACT same game now wouldn't it. Can hardly stress this as a point.
- AI Director - is still just an AI Director. Its nothing you as a gamer will see as different after X hours of gameplay.
- New Weapons - Great!
So yeah. I've thought before I typed. I've played the original game for more than an hour, and I've actually looked at what the new games offers. I was even one of those who preorderd the first one just so that i could get my hands on the demo before everyone else. Ive also "completed" the game, if there is such a thing.
I get that you might want this for achievements on the 360 and all (i like to collect trophies), but to praise this as a GOTY and "oh look how they've completly redesigned the game, this will bring us so much new stuff" - is just amazingly tainted by fanboy goggles. And the definition of fanboy in this sentense is one who loved the first game to such extreme that they believed it to be the best game ever made. Nothing else.
And on another note
- What of what I've said is "Wrong"? Or dosent "Make sense" ? - No need to get all defensive. ITS THE INTERNET!
- Read above. I've invested alot of time into the game.
- Actually i do know what L4D2 offers. You on the other hand seem to believe that what L4D2 offers is something new and gamechanging, when it seems as if its not. Let me highlight some hands on impressions and previews for you.
"While Left 4 Dead 2 certainly doesn't do anything drastically different, we're confident that it will offer another highly addictive experience of the zombie apocalypse." http://www.left4deadforums.com/20841-left-4-dead-2-preview.html
"Make no mistake, Left 4 Dead 2 is the same game that players fell love with last year. The mechanics are exactly the same. As explained to me by Valve's Chet Faliszek, the goal in creating the sequel wasn't to make the game more complicated" http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/left-4-dead-2-hands-on-4-you/
"And yet, it is still the same game on the surface. Whether or not the most significant changes will manage to dull the sting of forking out the cash for a new retail game, we'll have to wait and see. Either way, one thing is clear -- it's still damned fun." http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/02/left-4-dead-2-hands-on-4-you/
"Otherwise our Left 4 Dead 2 experience was much like Left 4 Dead 1, but that's not a bad thing by any means as Valve has crafted a simple (on the surface anyway) gameplay design that just works." http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/09/05/pax-2009-new-left-4-dead-2-hands-on-impressions/
"I don't believe it is any coincidence that each of the new special Infected have a similar silhouette to their L4D1 counterpart. The Charger is big in all dimensions like the Tank, the Spitter is taller than normal Infected, and skinny, just like the Smoker, and the Jockey crawls around on the ground like the Hunter." http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/Dexter345/pax-09-left-4-dead-2-impressions-147834.phtml
"What I played of Left 4 Dead 2 felt well-polished and fun, not too different from the first Left 4 Dead, but different enough." http://www.gamernook.com/news/view/post/59991/
Im not saying that the game wont be enjoyed or disliked. But you have to see the issue alot of people are complaining about. Valve releasing a game just one year after the first one, and its not THAT different, and certainly not to the extent where they couldnt have patched it, worked in some DLCs and in a year or so.. released L4D2 with more meat on its bones. And alot of previews, hands-on and event impressions of the game have the same impression, if you played the first one, you'll feel just at home with the second one.
