All console launches since the Dreamcast have borrowed from what it did right. It came with forward thinking hardware as part of the package and had a large line-up of games at launch that wasn't dominated by 1st party games. Also, the advertising was spot on and the timing of the launch well chosen. Also, lots of people remember it. Not as much as some systems, of course, but you should recall that it had record first day/week sales at its launch and would have outsold both GC and Xbox were it not discontinued so early.
