Amazon is an online store.
The sales of VGC are including an estimate of Amazon sales (though as VGC has it's own amazon store there is some direct data from it... there may be other direct Amazon data, but I am unsure)
What has become common here on the forum is for people to quote an Amazon top sellers list as some kind of proof something is selling wel or not, but it is not useful for things like that as the way Amazon ranks it is based on localised purchases (so per state I think in the USA) but also only for the previous hour.
It does of course hold some weight, but something being in the top 10 on an Amazon list could still be outside the top 1000 worldwide, or for instance if someone from Florida observes something in the top 10, that item could easily be outside the top 200 for America.
For it to be useful, someone would have to log the Amazon rankings every hour in every region for a week.... and I don't think we really know what region is what. (I was only guessing it to be seperated by state for USA)
