Your personal top consoles of all time!

That is what I have been saying.  You have to chose if you are making a top ten list based on how much fun they were to play during their lifecycle or how much fun they are to play today.  A list of the later wouldn't make much sense because most of the consoles on this list would be from this generation or the last.

It all boils down to personal opinion. If someone has loved the NES since its inception, and continues to enjoy playing NES games today, why would it be wrong to rate it above recent consoles?

PS3, 360 and Wii might be the "best" in terms of capabilities, but that doesn't mean that they should automatically be at the top of someone's "personal top consoles" list.

If a person enjoys playing NES games today, that can be attributed to nostalgia.  That would mean their list would be based on #1 of those two possibilities mentioned earlier.

I, personally, would put NES or SNES as my #1 console.
