Alright, my girlfriend sprung it on me me this morning. She remembers very little but said she just remembered playing a game from the earlier 90's that was based in Egypt. She described the gameplay as solving puzzles and collecting tear dropped shaped crystals in temples and pyramids, and specifically remembered walking through the desert with blowing sand to talk to the Sphynx and that the gods were very upset with her. I know this is a long shot but I can't find anything about it on the net and I'd like to hunt it down for her. Anyone with some ideas?
