I'm sure both M$ and $ony will screw lots of stuff up and cause significant teething problems for developers. However having a simpler system for motion control does not remove the inherent complexity of the cell. Even if the ps3 does have advantages in motion control development that will never make the rest of the programming easier. The world doesn't work that way.
