I assume that I haven't gotten to the really emotional, involved part.
@Kenryoku: Generally if I just want a really fun RPG I'd play a Dragon Quest. I found DQIV's funny accents amusing and charming, an enhancement to my experience.
"Och, a wee naff like yew cannae hope to stop the mighty Ragnar McRyan! *kills two guys in one punch*"
That shit was awesome. The stuff in FFX is not enhancing my experience so far, and I can't ignore it.
Soundtrack is still by and large gorgeous, I grant.
