So the advance here is that rather than movie studios or game developers having to publish their material in 3D the hardware (be it TV or built into the PS3 / Blu-ray player or digital movie projector) will do it with any digital media? This is a real advance because it doesn't require publishers to do anything new, spend more to produce for the new technology or squeeze more data onto discs. I guess it's a technology company's dream: producing entertainment technology that doesn't require producers to be the middle man between the technology and the consumer, so market directly to the consumer and bypass the producers.

Quite a bit different to the few games produced in 3D that Selnor mentioned.

Pretty much any FPS will look amazing converted to 3D if the technology does it well. It will add a new dimension to driving games too.

This with the PSwand packs a pretty big punch. But what will be the cost of 2xglasses+PSeye+2xPSwand? which will pretty much be the minimum purchase to make reasonable use of these technologies.
