I guess only old-timers like me get the joke here. Back on April 1st 2002, the GIA (one of the biggest gaming sites on the internet) shut down. Due to the timing of it, many thought it was an elaborate April Fools joke until it was obvious that the GIA wasn't coming back.

On top of this, today is September 9th, 2009, or 09/09/09. The Sega DreamCast was released on 09/09/99 in the US. It's not hard to see the connection, and why the GIA chose today to re-emerge as a joke gaming site. The site maintainer even said as much here: http://www.examiner.com/x-4080-LA-Classic-Game-Examiner~y2009m9d9-Gaming-Intelligence-Agency-reports-that-the-Sega-Dreamcast-2-is-coming

So yeah. GIA left and everybody thought it was a joke when it wasn't, and now it's back with jokes and everybody's taking it seriously. Sometimes you just can't win, eh?
