on a driving game/sim is useful to look at corner's apex and when you have other vehicles to your side (that is overtakings and starts).  

i understand that it's useful to see car positions.

but, if you have to turn your head to look around then it makes sense that you're not even looking the monitor at that point... which seems wacked to me.
