 The reason this bothers me is because if I were to make a thread, and the entire point was to point out the stupidity of religion.  And highlight all of the stupid things done/caused by religions from torturing people who had epilepsy and drilling holes into the head of people who had high fevers and the chills, all the way to the 500 year period where science was heracy  and stunted the intellectual growth of the human race in the name of god. Just to make people "think" about their religion.  Well I think you would be pretty "bothered" as well. 

But don't worry thats not really how I look at it.  Well I do think religion is responsible for a lot of horrible things in this world, but I recognize the role it plays in people's lives and is why I think it is important. I also recognize the differences between then and now, although there are quite a few remaining similarities. But I don't think you or anyone else should be going out of your way to convert a bunch of people. 

Your whole "I'm not trying to convert you but I want you to think about." speach is all well and good...until you realise how incredibly stupid it sounds.

 "Hi, I don't want to sell you this vacuum cleaner, but if you will just let me come into your house and give you a free cleaning and lay on a huge helping of guilt and BS I will just be on my way." 

You don't let that guy into your house because he is obviously trying to sell you a vacuum cleaner.  Just like I don't let you into my head because you are obviously trying to sell your belief system to the first sucker who comes along that isn't willing to do the thinking for himself.

People need to find these answers on their own. To be handed your beliefs by someone you met on the internet or any other fashion is a hollow faith.  Do your own thinking people, don't be suckered into believing what every random passer-by who has already made up their mind for themselves believes.

That is funny seeing the first thing you did was come check this thread and make another post on it.  I guess that proves you were not thinking about it.
