He is, as usual, twisting the reality somewhat in his favor, generalizing consumers to the Wii and DS model. Clearly there is a very strong market for the kind of development he derides, though it is equally clear that that market is over-saturated. The *real* problem is that no-one will admit that the core market is heavily oversaturated, leading to all those good games that fail to profit, and all those studios that then have to close.

 

Equally, it is clear that the low end of the market has been underserved, which explains their willingness to buy inferior products, because there isn't enough.
