A number of existing PS3 owners will have gone out this week to buy a PS3 slim (especially in Japan) - in much the same way as they did with the DS Lite, DSi, PS2 slim etc. So you have the effect of a new model, a price cut, pent-up demand (slim has been know about for months now) and a load of marketing. That said, PS3 far exceeded my expectations this week, I had it down at 250-300k so am very impressed so far - Sony really seems to have turned things round. |
