Wow, this list is even worse than IGN's list! People have already summed up why the list is full of fail, so instead I offer my list instead:

15. Gamecube (psuedo-portable)
14. Game Boy Advance (update with 100% backward compatibilty)
13. XBox 360 (first to do HD on consoles) [tentative rank for current system]
12. PS2 (most successful, 1st to use DVD)
11. Wii (expansion to non-gamers) [tentative rank for current system]
10. Game Gear (first successful color handheld)
9. Vectrex (first home console ever)
8. Atari 2600 (switchable cartridges, difficulties)
7. Genesis (successfully making a 2 system market, 3rd action button)
6. Dreamcast (first with success online, VMU screen)
5. DS (2 screen portables, integrating a touch screen)
4. Game Boy (first portable)
3. NES (revived market, scrolling screens)
2. PS1 (portable saves, 1st disc-base to succeed)
1. SNES (top controller buttons, 6 action buttons, first to merge console and portables)

Your list measures innovation. Not quality.

EDIT: Also, the PS2 expanded the market a LOT more than the Wii.

Maybe that's quality in his eyes?
