I think Sony knew this this was going to be big, I mean no retailer is reporting PS3 slim selling out around the globe but Sony managed to sell 500k in a week, how come? because Sony anticipated the surge and delivered enough stock. And I think they know that it will be bigger in the coming weeks. A few months ago we had articles like this:
