I believe a Slim XBox 360 would result in more overheating issues. It is a good idea Microsoft have not released a slim XBox 360.
Microsoft have worked hard at reducing the XBox 360 overheating problems through revisions of the XBox 360 hardware. 30% hardware failure rates in 2005 launched systems have dropped dramatically to less than 5% hardware failure rates in 2009 XBox 360 models.
