If publishers are highly profitable and successful by most measures it really isn't my place to question their decisions because they seem to be working for them ... With a company like EA that continues to see record losses off of record revenues it is entirely reasonable to question their management practices; and (if you hold stock) to get rid of the CEO and/or board of directors for such a poor performance.
Now, I understand that some major publishers decided to give their well known IPs to their best studios and only release them on the HD consoles as a way to manage the risk of budgets which often pass $40 Million; but a lot of their problems are caused by these decisions being that there are few well known core games produced for the Wii that are developed by decent developers.
