No, it just got HD-DVD shut down. It's growth is far slower than the companies supporting it wanted.
Not that HD-DVD would have done better if this had been reversed.
But if Sega did do this, it might be because HD-DVD is in little use now, and may have some proprietary use, whatever this new thing is.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
