Of course Blu-Ray looks better. It's just like with DirecTV where some of the channels are in HD, and some of them are in SD. The difference (*edit* between upscaled DVD and Blu-Ray) is definitely noticeable, but not as pronounced. The only downside, is that a DVD will play on a portable DVD player, a laptop, most home consoles, your friend's DVD player, an HD DVD player, your toaster, AND your Blu-Ray player. A Blu-Ray will only play on......your Blu-Ray player.

In the end, while I enjoy the HD channels on DirecTV, I watch a lot of standard definition, too. It's not as big a deal as one would think.
