Sega were arcade kings and desinged their systems so that their arcade games would easily be ported to them. Nintendo, as an old toy company designed their controllers and hardware around the software that they wanted to make. This meant that the systems were very personal, and very special depending of the company that made them. The PC Engine, that was made by NEC, (a big electronics company similar to Sony) did not have the feel that the other systems of the time had (Megadrive and Super Nintendo) When the PS1 came, Sony just bought some random game studios, threw some money at developers, and well BAM! there it is, a succesful console. That's probably what he meant by the "soul" thing. As for S3&K. I have all the 2D sonic games, so I know what they do. Sonic 3&Knukles is a full game on it's own, it is high quality and can be enjoyed by itself alone. S3&K Was originally supposed to be part of Sonic 3, but sega couldn't meet the deadline, so they had to split it into two games. While they did this, to compensate they added the lock-on with Sonic 2 to play as knuckles and additional content. @ rol: S3&K is not compatible with Sonic 1 |
Thats precisely what i meant.
Sega and Nintendo are REAL gaming companies.
Sony got in to this business for all the wrong reasons................. they're just another greedy "corporation" who wait till somthing is becoming big and then jump on the bandwagon.
