From a gamers perspective it should be the quality and quantity of games.
Sales only matter from a business perspective, but considering that the three consoles are stable it doesn't really matter how well they sell, because games will be coming regardless. Unfortunately for the PC piracy is killing it's ability to maximize profits. It is not as stable a platform as I would like it to be. A PC is not something I would invest heavily into.
