The speaker function might be useless to you but like I said about rumble, it doesn't have to suit your tastes to be a feature that people want to have.
Everything I have seen (and I checked around before I posted last time to be sure) says the basic package for the PS3/360 is wired and if you want wireless you will probably be paying $110-$120. I would advise anyone getting the 360/PS3 version to get the wireless version as it is MUCH nicer.
The fact that you thought you had to hold the Wii-mote while playing is a huge point in this debate, and the fact that you were so completely ignorant of the facts concerning the Wii bundle highlights that you were arguing against it without all the information. When someone is making passionate argument against something that they know nothing about in the video game world it usually has one reason. But I will leave others to come up with their own adjectives.
I will also point out that I never said DLC is the "deciding factor", I said it was only honest to mention it sense it is a very big feature for many people.
With that said I am not too worried about DLC, I am looking at the huge song list and wondering how long its going to take me to get through all of the songs that are already there! Not to mention beating it on all the different difficulties. But also I have been following the dev videos and they have mentioned that if Nintendo will work with them they have it so they can patch the game to handle DLC after launch. So if the game does well (and I suspect it will) we could still see DLC. But we shall see.
I suspect the reason for no standalone Wii version is that everyone needs a guitar to go with it. The game really is a lot more fun with the guitar than without. I'm not even sure if you can play the Wii version without the guitar.
As for no need for the rumble and the speaker...well sure you can play without them but they add another layer of depth and are a reason to buy that version. Perhaps you aren't interested in the features but please don't discount their importance to others. As it stands right now the Wii version could actually end up being the definitive version if the DLC comes through...but for now I will call that a big if since we haven't heard anything and I hate the idea of just trusting the devs word on it until they officially announce that its coming.
And one more feature I will add to the Wii version now that I have played it! The wii version also has motion control for the battle modes. Its how you activate your special abilities and stuff. At first I thought "meh this is sorta lame", but once I got into it a bit more (especially when battling Slash) it really gets you into act of acting and feeling like a Guitar Hero. It gets you off the edge of the couch and on your feet playing like a rock star. Great stuff and definitely a lot of fun, I'm glad I gave it a try =)
And finally, I will say that you have ZERO room to complain about being picked on. If you had been mistaken about a price or something small it would truly be no big deal. But the misconception you had about the Wii guitar/Wii-mote setup was fundamental to understanding the basics behind the Wii version. Not knowing that means you didn't even look for info, you just posted based on your assumptions.
