Is the PS3 slim the last hope ?

Going through this thread just reminded me why I stopped posting here.

PS3 Slim may NOT be Sony's last hope. Don't forget Sony stated they're expecting to keep the PS3 as a player for a long term.
Even if the sales upsets Sony fanboys (which is not currently the case), PS3 is being given a life shot to outlast 360 and Wii.

Last hope for PS? May be, but there is reasonable doubt about this.
Last hope for Sony? No way. Sony can survive for long enough without PSs one it's list.

By the way, I'm an X360 fan. But I like to be real when data shows trends and not to be biased, as trolling has become pretty boring for me.
