Is it the last hope for winning this generation? No. That was long ago. Sony might be able to beat Microsoft for second place, but first is beyond their grasp.
Is it the last hope for the Playstation Franchise? Maybe. If Sony continues to lose money, and it looks like next generation is going to be just as bad, they may not make a PS4.
Is it the last hope for Sony? Hell no. They have enough money to drop the franchise without suffering too badly.
Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.
