I never truly enjoyed Age of Empires 1 and 2 (never played 3).
There were sooooo many different races to choose from, but most of the time they were all exactly the same with 1 different unit from the castle and a seemingly random assortment of upgrades from the tech tree. Too many resources, boring battles, bland music. Just not my type of game, I want to play more fast paced RTS games.
