It's no longer on your pop station, true. Doesn't mean it's dead, there is still good mainstream rock out there. Mainstream rap is dead. Even mainstream rappers used to have a meaning (Tupac, Public Enemy, B.I.G. etc.) but anything post the popularity of The 3-6 Mafia et al, all we can hear about is how drugs and drinking are cool, women are currency/prey, and who has the biggest rims (if you haven't heard it, check out the song "Shine" from The Hot Boyz, it pretty much shows where the industry has headed). I miss the 90's rap more than I miss the 90's rock.
