He literally threw it on the floor? Some people have actually tried the fix a 2nd or 3rd time and it finally works for them. Maybe you didnt heat up the board long enough? Sounds like you did somethin cause you were able to eject the disc!! If he didnt literally smash your PS3 I'd try the fix again! It will work! I wouldnt give up yet, you paid over $600 for that thing and now it's junk parts. MAKE IT WORK!!!!!!
