I have sources which I do not want to disclose that inform me: "Around 1 million PS3 Slims will be sold in first week of its launch worldwide. 2 million PS3 Slims will be sold for the month of September worldwide".
Their assumptions are based on the PS3 will take off just like the PS2 did when it was at a sweet spot of $299, combined with Playstation brand name.
The PS3 sales will eat up Wii and 360 sales more people will initially jump on board the cheaper PS3 which is a better value game system - includes Blu-Ray, free online, 120GB HDD and Wi-fi for only $299.
My revised predictions for September are:
PS3 = 1 million (first week of PS3 Slim = 400k)
Wii = 800k.
360 = 500k.
