PS3 at $299 is a better value than a $299 Elite

I was skeptical at first about the PS3 Slim at $299, but now, I think by the time you buy an Elite and wifi for it, you are at $350. With the PS3, you get a Blu Ray player as well.

Still, if you never plan to buy a Blu Ray player and like the features that LIVE has, the 360 Arcade may be the way to go.

I was recommending a video game console to a friend and did the math - hadn't done it since the Slim came out. I was like 'Dang ...'

I'll give props where props is due - even though Sony's losing a grip of money on the PS3, I hope they have learned their lesson about arrogance.

I think Sony will still finish 3rd, but it will be a lot closer than 8M, IMHO.
