There is some slight conditions to that. It's not quite as easy as saying "Forgive me" and your good. First you have to actually want forgiveness and admit the error of your ways. Then you have to not only accept his forgiveness, but as your savior and God as well. And then finally, which I don't know is a requirement after the first 2 or not, you have to actually show you've changed for the better (along the same lines of actually wanting forgiveness and being truly sorry).
But this is getting complicated
