Thats sad man. No one benefits form this. Sony has to sell you a console at a loss. You have to buy another console at a loss or repair the curret one at a loss. Considering yours has BC, id say repair it.

These consoles today are messed up... My genesis, 32x and sega CD dont miss a beat but I had problems with PS1, PS2 and Xbox360. Pretty much everything i owned that was CD based other than Saturn and Dreamcast.

iys because contrary to popular belief...stronger the tech, greater the fail rate

Well that partially true but there are exceptions...

Xbox1 from what ive heard was quite sturdy and it lasted a long time and it was the most powerful console last gen.

Dreamcast has like...no fail rate, everyone i know that has a dreamcast has theirs working still. And when it came out in 1998 it was leaps and bounds ahead of anything tech wise. It gave PCs a run for its money if you think about games coming out in 1998...at a 640x480 resolution atleast :)

not true...the first dreamcast I bought (new) didn't work out of the box it wouldn't read discs...next day I returned it in exchange for a new one and 2 years later it stopped reading some of my games and its not the discs because I tried them on my cousins dreamcast and they worked

I had very bad luck with the dreamcast

As much as I still love my dreamcast I had problems similar problems with it reading GD's.

I never thought of trying the disc in another dreamcast just presumed it was the couple of games as the rest could still be read.
