Yeah, at the time I was so young that I didn't even realize (or had the ability to check) that it wasn't the actual third game in the series. Heck, I didn't even know until maybe a year ago that it was actually a part of the SaGa series.
When I got the game, I loved it and played it like crazy and when I eventually saw Final Fantasy VII come out for the PS, I couldn't help but put two and two together and I had to purchase it, along with the future releases of Final Fantasy.
Sadly I never had either of the NES games and I didn't own a SNES until about 4 years ago. So I didn't know about or couldn't get into any of the other FF games sooner than this one or sooner than finding out about VII.
