It is unfortunate any time a console dies no matter what kind it is. Esp... considering how much they cost.

Is it me or is there a lot of broken 60gb Ps3's lately? Sorry to hear about this leo.

It's not just you. That's why I traded mine in for a slim. They're dropping dead left and right.

I was just wondering, how much difference did it cost you?  I know where there is a YLOD PS3 I can get for relatively cheap and was thinking about buying it for either trying to trade in or for fixing.  Do they take broken PS3's in for trade?

I only got $160 for mine, but the heat and noise it was starting to pump out regularly was too scary. So all in all, the slim cost $140.

They don't take broken PS3's in for trade. If you could get it for really cheap though, you may be able to turn a profit on ebay or craigslist (depending on how much you pay, of course).
