I'm sure that every developer sucks who can't make an equal game on the PS3, which is damn near every developer. At some point, it becomes the console designs fault, doesn't it? Just because something is possible under the most excellent of circumstances, doesn't mean it isn't damn near impossible to pull off. Like Killzone 2 graphics on the PS3.

A poor workman blames his tools. There are many excellent games on PS3, both 1st and 3rd party, not just KZ2. So saying it's near impossible to pull it off is total BS. If you'd said not worth the time and effort for many/most 3rd party developers then you might have a point.

It all depends what you mean by design fault. There is no way you can say the machine is technologically impared, the technology works very well and produces outstanding results. So I can only think that you mean Sony made an error in taking the technological design of the machine in a different and unfamiliar direction. But there's nothing wrong with the design.

Even though it's a somewhat dodgy metric the fact that PS3 has a slightly better game quality rating than 360 these days(http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5017)  puts the lie to your suggestion that there is a design fault with the console itself, which somehow excuses poor multiplat versions being released on PS3.
