For starters, I'd say you really need to ask yourself if you want a console or a handheld. So, if you choose the handheld, the DS is a great choice because it has a great library and is extremely well supported.
If you choose a console, you need to ask yourself what kinds of games you want. Honestly, the 360 mops the floor either of the other two consoles on shooters and RPGs. The Wii has some great games as well, especially their first party ones like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Super Smash Brothers. It all comes down to which kind of games you want to play the most.
