Too bad Suikoden has been ruined ever since the creator left after Suikoden III.  Now its like they're just making Final Fantasy knock-offs with 108 characters and runes.

That's like saying Star Ocean is a Tales knockoff with a more complex battle system and less interesting characters.

The difference is, I'm talking about story and player interaction, not gameplay.  Since one of the major things that set Suikoden apart was the connecting storyline from game to game and diverse roles your characters played.  In Suikoden IV, V, Tactics and the new DS game, you might as well just be characters from FFTactics Advance.  School children trapped in a storybook following orders, with no ties at all to Suikoden I-III aside from 2-3 cameo apperances of past characters.
