As an owner of all of the current consoles, I'll happily pay for Xbox Live while it continues to be superior to PSN.

COD3 on PS3 = no voice chat.
COD4 on PS3 = no trophies, missing options in the lobbies.
COD:WAW on PS3 = missing options in the lobbies, no option to choose locale only, locale first or worldwide for multiplayer game searches.

And of course you only have open voice chat in the 2 games that do support it, the invites/join system works better on the 360, and when a friend is playing COD, I can see exactly which map/mode he's playing either through the dashboard, xbox.com, or through an app on my PC.

Another thing to consider is the price of the DLC. Map packs for COD:WAW on the 360 are £6.80 each. On the PS3 they're £7.99 each. I bought all 3 map packs for the 360 version for £6 each by buying cheaper pre-paid cards (still not available for the PS3 in this country), so that's a £6 price difference - enough to pay for 3 months of vastly superior online service via Xbox Live.

I wonder how many people moaning about paying 50p a week for Live actually own 360s or have used Live to compare? Not many, I bet. Personally, cross-game chat is a vital feature for me. If MS removed it, I'd head over to the EA forums and post loads of porn and death threats. ;)
