Modern War 2? lol
Well, if Malstrom wants to know why everyone is talking about 'Modern War 2' instad of NSMB Wii, maybe he should take a look at the American preorder charts.
| 1 |
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 |
X360 |
821,101 |
| 3 |
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 |
PS3 |
245,835 |
| 28 |
New Super Mario Bros. Wii |
Wii |
39,563 |
|
Does that mean you are willing to bet that either MW2 version will outsell NSMB Wii?
|
The 360 version in America, definitely.
|
Well, that's the only thing that could possibly happen, in all other regions NSMB Wii is guaranteed to win. Although NSMB DS sold more than Modern Warfare on the 360 in America, so the Wii game might achieve a clean sweep.
|
But people (Malstrom) don't seem to realise that most of these analysts are from America and America is the only market they're analysing.
|
There are quite a few Japanese analysts out there as well. There is one in particular who has been predicting Wii doom for quite some time, though I cannot remember her name (I believe it is a her).
Also, it is interesting that Malestrom talks about stock price -- while Nintendo's stock price has basically retreated back to where it was pre-Wii-launch. So not all is right with on the investor side there as well. (The traditional long-term investor in Japan may not be as powerful as the new day trader).

The thing with NSMB Wii is that it's going to be a monster leg games just like Wii Fit, Wii Play and in smaller proportion Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers Brawl. MW2 will have great release and good legs, but won't appear in top 10 for 2 years.
