I'm rather inclined to place this post under the notion of "mocking the choice thing" due to the war statement at the end but I would like to mention that gay people do not chose to be gay, they become aware. Chosing and becoming aware are interlinked in the sense that once you decided/feel that you are gay and this idea feels right, you have a choice set in stone e.g. you are not going back on it.
People insecure about their sexuality are generally not sure of their orientation and any choice made will generally result in disappointment (try to find WessleWoggle's story on him and his niece...)
