I think some TVs don't accept 1080p in component cables, but up to 1080i at least they all do, I think.

All ( 99%) 1920x1080 tv´s (full hd) accept 1080p in component and hdmi, as long as there is the connection.

1280x720 tv´s (hd ready) don´t accept 1080p, only 720p and 1080i.

hdmi and component has THE SAME QUALITY IMAGE, there´s no diference at all. hdmi is digital, component is analogic, but the signal is the same.

If you talk with managers from high profile home cinema and projectors stores they will tell you that the best cable to watch 1080p is COMPONENT.

@ NJ5

tenho cabo de componentes e hdmi para a ps3 e não há diferença nenhuma nos jogos. Em filmes já há variações, uns ficam melhor em hdmi, outros em

It will accept the signal, it displays things with said signal smaller then a 720 signal which sugests that the resolution is higher. of course it is impossible for a screen to display more pixels then it has it can however accept and display with some degree of scaling.

If its displaying in progressive or interlaced format i am not sure however it still works.

And on topic im sure the slim will support component.

yeah, that´s right. I didn´t explain myself correctly. Of course a 1280x720 panel accepts 1080p, by downgrading it usually to 1080i.

I should said hd ready don´t show a 1080p full hd signal, but convert it to a 1080i or 720p.
